What we offer for supported employees
DSA Business Services provides meaningful employment opportunities for more than 500 people with a disability. We operate 4 factories, Mascot, Condell Park, Seven Hills and Braemar in the Southern Highlands NSW. Our employees perform a broad variety of jobs across all of our sites ranging from basic packaging through to complex assembly, document management and all aspects of logistics/warehousing. We also operate a cleaning and maintenance service that works with some of Australia’s leading organisations. Many of the products and companies we work with you can see everyday in shops and supermarkets across the country. Our employees regularly work at “host employer” sites – these are companies we work with who require our employees to work in their business at their own site. This gives our employees experience working in mainstream companies as well as learning a variety of different tasks.
Some of the work we do includes:
- Contract Packaging, Labelling and Assembly
- Shelf Ready Packaging and Displays
- Shrink Wrapping, Flow Wrapping and Bundle Wrapping
- Kitting and Pre- Assembly
- Digital file management
- Property Maintenance and Services
- Working offsite with a range of host employers
The contribution we make to the ADE community
DSA supports the business needs with 70 different businesses across Australia. From large organisations like Costco, Qantas and Telstra to small locally based businesses. DSA works in partnership with local communities and are active in community development projects across all of the regions we operate in. Our work communities are safe places, we do not discriminate based on support needs and believe all people should be supported in a manner that helps them reach their full potential.
How supported employees and their families benefit from our organisation
At DSA we value our employees. We put our people first. DSA offers safe inclusive work places with support strategies that are individually tailored to meet everyone’s needs. We look for opportunities for people to be more engaged with their local communities and run social engagement programs outside of work time to increase opportunities. At DSA we understand the important role our parents and cares play in our employees’ lives. We run support groups and information sessions aimed at building resilience and information that will support them in their individual journeys. DSA is an organisation that values learning, each person has a training and development plan developed. All people are offered the opportunity to participate in regular training both internally offered and through external training options. We currently offer employees the opportunity to complete Warehouse and Storage qualifications. Training options are being increased regularly.
