Mawarra ADE has three enterprises;

• Waratah offers gardening and mowing services
• Country Kitchen undertakes hospitably and catering
• Jigsaw provides packaging and assembly and wood products

The contribution we make to the ADE community

The enterprises of Mawarra are closely linked to the community as the mowing and gardening enterprise has over 100 customers that are residential properties, schools, churches, sporting ovals, community organisations and businesses. Country Kitchen operates in the cafeteria of a community TAFE and interacts with hundreds of staff and students daily. Jigsaw has a number of business partners including ASH Timber and Jindi Cheese. These customers and partners use the Mawarra ADE to benefit the community, to support the ADE and because they value the service provided.

How supported employees and their families benefit from our organisation

The employees belong to a supportive workplace and derive the benefits that any employees gain from working. The employees enjoy the social interaction with their colleagues and supervisors and the sense of belonging which is important in personal well being and minimising mental health issues. The employees gain confidence and self esteem from being a productive member of a work team and workplace. The employees also receive workplace training and support which is importing in providing a safe and productive workplace and giving the workers vocation skills and work related competencies. The employees receive a wage which builds self esteem and promotes independence. All these benefits that employees gain flow on families and carers as the role of families and carers in supporting the individual is easier and more rewarding.
