The contribution we make to the ADE community
Orana is a not for profit organisation with over 60 years experiences in providing independence for people living with disability through a variety of employment and accommodation services. Orana employs 500 people living with a disability across nine South Australian regional and metropolitan sites and encourages their employees to fulfil their dreams and become valued and productive community members.
How supported employees and their families benefit from our organisation
Orana caters for a range of disabilities including people with physical disability, intellectual disability and mental health. Orana offers a wide range of employment opportunities to suit individuals’ ability levels and transitions new employees into the workforce through a gradual integration process, which ultimately minimises stress/anxiety levels for both the families and the employee. Orana works with employees to reach their full potential through an annual individual goal planning process. Life skills such as social skills, safety skills, timber manufacturing, the use of power and hand tools, problem solving, cleaning and how to work in a team environment can all be learnt by working with Orana. Orana also offers employees the opportunity to up-skill and gain qualifications certificates such as a Certificate III in Horticulture as well as funding forklift licences. Anger management and health and well-being support programs are also available to employees of Orana.
