The contribution we make to the ADE community

WSE is a not for profit ADE in Kingston that has been providing employment opportunities for adults with a disability for 25 years. WSE specialises in providing personal mentoring support and a friendly work environment to promote social inclusion and enjoyable work experiences. By being able to be employed, employee's at WSE are able to enjoy having a higher income which increases the employee's life enrichment and social inclusion thru having the extra resources. Any profit the business makes goes to improving the local community opportunities for the supported employee's and maintaining "Grandma's Pantry" and the "Kingston Lawn Rangers".

How supported employees and their families benefit from our organisation

Employee's at WSE not only get to work in a friendly team environment, they are also able to utilise the additional income gained from employment to partake in community activities. Employee's also have the opportunity to work in the shop front to develop and maintain communication and social interaction skills, which enables employee's to build a rapport with customers and visitors. Depending on the employment opportunity taken, employees can cook items such as cakes, biscuits, jams, chutneys and sauces in the catering service, or, operate lawnmowers and line trimmers in the gardening service. A variety of skills can be developed through these activities such as social skills, cooking skills, manual handling skills, food safety skills and gardening skills. All of which are good life skills that can transfer from work to home to give employee personal benefits.
